Snow affects businesses differently in Lancaster County

Posted: Updated:

Jim Cox plows snow for Fesko's Lawnworks in Lancaster County.  He decided to plan ahead for Thursday's snowfall by going on his route on Wednesday and clearing frozen snow barriers to make his job more efficient on Thursday.

Cox says he and five other teams were plowing parking lots throughout the county.

Several business remained closed along Lincoln Highway during the morning hours while contractors spent several hours clearing parking spaces for customers and employees.

The Lancaster Host had a scheduled convention at the facility, and they were expecting more than 1,200 people to attend.  The bad travel conditions kept more than 900 people away, but hotel officials say those who made it in were having a good time and they were doing everything possible to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

Rafael Locco is from Venice, Italy.  He is in the Lancaster area on business.  He says he has never seen snow like this before, and he spent 15 minutes outside taking pictures and video to send back to friends and family.
