STEWARTSTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police have identified a suspect wanted for assaulting a 76-year-old man at a York County gas station.

Eric Dennis Tereo, 28, allegedly knocked down a Hopewell Township man, who was warning a cashier not to smoke near the gas pumps, and spit in the victim's face, according to Southern York County Regional police.

The elderly man was transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of a broken rib, a head injury, and bruises to his chest and hip.

Tereo, who has addresses in York Township and Delta, is not in custody.

Police have an arrest warrant charging him with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct for the Nov. 19 incident at the Sunoco gas station at 62 N. Main Street in Stewartstown.

Investigators last month released a surveillance photo from the gas station so that someone might identify the attacker.

Anyone with information concerning Tereo's whereabouts is asked to call Southern Regional Police Department at 717-235-3944 or 717-840-2971.
