Crews are cleaning up after an overnight fire in Cumberland County.
It started around 2:30 a.m. Monday in the basement of a home on the 500 block of Woodcrest Drive in Hampden Township.
Two people were home at the time and made it out before firefighters got there. The cause is still under investigation.
"The homeowners...they were able to escape," Assistant Hampden Township Fire Chief Jerry Ozog said. "They did have smoke detectors, which was very important. The smoke detectors alerted them to the smoke in the building and they were able to exit safely. It was very good that they had smoke detectors."
About 45 firefighters were called to the scene to fight the fire.
