Most of the accumulating snow has already pushed east of the region this morning. Expect off and on snow showers to continue through the morning hours with little additional accumulation.
Winds will pick up later today with some breaks of sunshine this afternoon. Highs will be slightly warmer today topping off in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees. A shift in the jetstream will give us a daily chance of a rain or snow shower throughout the rest of the week. A warm spell develops for the end of the week as we peak in the low 50s on Friday.
A potent cold front will produce rain showers Friday morning. Rainfall projections for Friday are less than a half inch. This thawing period will not last long as colder air arrives again early next week. Overall, expect some snow to melt and compact later this week, but refreeze with the return of some colder temperatures next week.
