Brides Against Breast Cancer: Discounted gowns for charity

Posted: Updated:
BIRMINGHAM - AL -

Around this time of year, many brides-to-be are in a frantic panic to line up all the details of their nuptials.  A nationwide tour is helping women take care of their checklist, while helping a major cause at the same time.  Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22, Brides Against Breast Cancer will bring its tour of gowns to Birmingham.  That means wedding dresses and more, in shapes from four to 18, will be available from designers, manufacturers, and bridal shops.

Nearly 1,000 designer and brand name wedding gowns will be at the Tutwiler - Hampton Inn at 2021 Park Place for the weekend.  Some of the gowns begin at just $99 and others have a value of up to $4,000.  They'll be marked with 25% to 85% discounts, with proceeds of the sale going to support cancer patients and their families.

The nationwide tour of gowns will be held from 6:00 until 10:00 p.m. Friday and then, Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Last year, $2 million was raised during the tour of gown and funded free programs and services for those impacted by cancer.
