Alabama's Nick Jacobs will not travel with the team for Thursday's game at Texas A&M, and it's unclear when he'll play again after he took a voluntary "leave of absence" from the basketball program.

The junior forward is third on the team with 8.4 points a game and averages 3.5 rebounds. The 6-foot-8 Jacobs has started Alabama's last three games.

"Nick and I met early this week regarding a pattern of behavior and inconsistencies with his responsibilities as a student athlete," Alabama coach Anthony Grant said in a press release. "When addressed with these off-the-court issues, he requested a leave of absence which I granted. He and I both feel it is in his best interest to step away from the team for the immediate future. We will continue to provide Nick the support and assistance he needs to reassess his priorities and focus on his well-being."

Alabama is 10-15, 4-8 in SEC going into Thursday's game at Texas A&M. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Tide is 0-11 on the road this season.
