Teen shooting victim ran to restaurant for help

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Harrisburg police are investigating an early morning shooting that injured a teen who ran to a nearby restaurant for help.

The 15-year-old boy told officers he was shot while walking in the area of the 200 block of Hummel Street, but he was unable to give a description of the suspects, city police said.

He was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and was listed in good condition, police said.

Sajad Haider, an employee at USA Fried Chicken in the 1200 block of Derry Street, said the teen was bleeding from his shoulder when he came into the restaurant looking for help shortly after midnight.

Haider said a large fight reportedly happened somewhere on Hummel Street and he expressed concern about violence in that area.

"We are supposed to be sisters, brothers," Haider said. "We are to love each other, not shoot each other."

Anyone with information is asked to call Harrisburg police at 717-255-3025 or 717-255-3158.
