Collector's pinball machines go to auction

Posted: Updated:

A Lancaster County company is running what may be one of the coolest auctions ever.

Seventy-five pinball machines are going to the highest bidder Friday and Saturday through Morphy's Auctions in Denver.

The machines belonged to a collector and were once part of an exhibit at the National Pinball Museum in Washington, D.C.

"Our collection has a range from the 1930's through 1999," Jennifer Belz of Morphy Auctions said.  "The estimated value, we expect to start at $500 and probable high range $5,000."

The two-day auction began at 9 a.m. Friday at morphyauctions.com.

Six-hundred more pinball machines from the collection will go on the auction block over the next two or three years.
