Brothers drown on the Coosa River while fishing

Brothers from Jacksonville drowned while fishing on the Coosa River in Ohatchee early Sunday morning.

Xao Le and his brother Cong Le died when the canoe they were fishing out of capsized before 1 a.m. Sunday morning.  A cousin, who stayed on shore left to get help, but when he returned the men had disappeared.

Xao Le's body was found caught in the nets attached to the canoe around 2 a.m. Cong Le's body was found around 7 a.m. under water not far from where the canoe tipped over.

The Coroner's Office says neither man was wearing a life vest and the water temperature was about 47 degrees.
