Police in Cumberland County are investigating reports of scams in the area involving SAT and ACT testing.
According to Silver Spring Township Police, officers received information from Cumberland Valley High School's administration about a phone call received by a parent on Saturday.
Authorities said that the man on the phone told the parent that he was calling from Cumberland Valley High Schools and was working to obtain resources to help with the child's SAT and ACT testing.
The caller then asked for a credit card number to reserve CDs for the parent.
Police and school district officials remind the public to be aware that this type of activity is a scam, and that the caller is not a representative of the school
