Mosaic Program Helping Foster Families

Posted:

Lynchburg, VA - Foster families in the community are receiving assistance and helpful resources thanks to a local ministry.

In 2010, The Mosaic at Brentwood Church in Lynchburg started helping local families who recently adopted or became foster parents.

The church has expanded the program to help those families even more.

Mosaic volunteers will deliver a home-cooked meal to a foster family within several days of them receiving a child.

The service is even available to foster families who are going through a hard time with the children.

"This is just something were they drop everything off and just say, ya know, we love you, we thank you for what you're doing and we hope that this is a blessing to you," Director Tammy Dupin said.

Mosaic has also been giving out backpacks to families filled with essential items like toothbrushes, toothpaste and gift cards.
