Fundraiser Planned for Sick Bedford Girl

Bedford, VA - A Bedford girl known to thousands online as Tiny TayLynn, has been through more in 17-months than most people go through in long lifetime.

TayLynn was diagnosed with something called 1P36, a genetic disorder.

The father of a little girl with the same condition in Roanoke is helping put together a charity motorcycle ride to help TayLynn.

TayLynn was born with a heart problem and spent her first four months in the NICU. At two months old, she lost her right leg to a blood clot.

She had a kidney removed because of Cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.

TayLynn's grandmother Teresa Widener calls her an inspiration.

"She's had a number of transfusions and multiple surgeries and I just don't know how she does it, but she just comes back stronger and better every time," Widener said.

The Star City Riders are holding the charity ride for Taylynn on March 29. Registration begins at noon in the Roanoke Civic Center parking lot.

Organizers say they'd like to raise money to buy an air purifier to help TayLynn breath. She has lung disease and is on a trach and ventilator.

They'd also like to build a ramp to make it easier to get in and out of the family home.
