Mixed Reaction from Parents on How Schools Handled Bomb Threats

Posted:

Lynchburg, VA - No arrests yet after 11 Lynchburg City Schools had bomb threats phoned in.

Police had extra officers on hand Wednesday as a precaution and say they are following up on tips.

Some parents were upset about how one school chose to deal with the threat, however.

Parents had mixed reactions to how some Lynchburg City Schools handled Tuesday's bomb scare.

Each city school has their own Crisis Management plan.

Superintendent Scott Brabrand said Tuesday that each school acted in accordance with their individual policy.

At E.C. Glass, students say they treated it like a fire drill. Students were taken to the front of the building, rather than the baseball field, like they do during bomb scare drills.

"At first when it actually happened we just had a fire drill, so we all went to our usual spots for when we go there which is right outside the school,"

ABC 13 reached out to the superintendent's office to schedule an interview and we were unable to.

Not all parents were concerned.

A few mothers at Paul Munro Elementary told us they were impressed with how the school handled the threat.
