Most Democratic gubernatorial candidates show up to debate

Posted: Updated:

For nearly two hours, six of the seven Democrats vying for governor squared off for a debate Friday night.

The debate was part introduction and mostly a friendly forum as candidates shared their thoughts on issues like health care, education, curbing gun violence and marijuana.

On hand was Former DEP Secretary John Hanger, Lebanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz, Treasurer Rob McCord, ex-DEP Secretary, former presidential advisor Kathleen McGinty, U.S. Representative Allyson Schwartz, and York County businessman Tom Wolf.

The event, held at the Harrisburg Hilton, was part of the Pennsylvania Progressive Summit.

Going into the discussion, York County's Tom Wolf led the polls. (DETAILS: http://www.abc27.com/story/24827059/poll-wolf-leading-pack-of-corbett-challengers)

However, it's still early in the game. The month of May feels far away, and for contenders a lot of time is left to campaign.

Jack Wanger declined to participate in the debate.
