NEW BLOOMFIELD, Pa. (WHTM) -

A New Bloomfield man has been ordered held for court in the death of a 3-month-old girl.

A district judge on Tuesday found enough evidence against Joshua Michael Gross to forward his case to Perry County court, according to court records.

Gross, 33, was caring for the baby at a home in the 100 block of N. Carlisle Street on Jan. 18 when he called 911 to report that his daughter, Ivy Gross, had stopped breathing, the criminal complaint states.

Doctors found several significant injuries including "abusive head trauma consistent with shaking," the complaint states.

The baby died at a hospital four days later.

Police said in court documents that Gross repeatedly told them he called 911 after he noticed the girl's lips had a blue tint, but later claimed he noticed a problem after he picked her up and "shook her a few times."

He is being held in the Perry County Prison without bail on charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child.
