Jackson, GA -

A Butts County teenager is accused of beating his grandmother to death with a baseball bat.

Authorities say 18-year-old JeNorman Bland faces several charges, including murder.

According to Butts County Sheriff Gray Long, Bland is accused of chasing his grandmother through her house and repeatedly striking her with the bat. She was found dead inside her Jackson home around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Long said Bland told investigators he went to his grandmother's house asking for a ride to a nearby store, but she was getting ready for work.

Bland is scheduled to appear in court Thursday. He also faces kidnapping, robbery and false imprisonment charges.

The grandmother's name has not been released.
