Police have arrested a suspected shoplifter who apparently had a taste for shrimp.
Mauricio C. Cosme, 31, of Lancaster, walked out of the Giant food store on Columbia Avenue without paying for shrimp eight times during the last two weeks of January, Manheim Township police said.
Cosme is accused of stealing $578 worth of shrimp and about $40 worth of other food during nine theft incidents at the store, police said.
He has been charged with nine counts of retail theft.
Police have also charged 40-year-old Angel L. Olmeda-Rivera, also of Lancaster.
He was in the store with Cosme on Jan. 30 and walked out with shrimp and other items valued at $113, police said.
Investigators also found merchandise that had been stolen from another store when they searched his vehicle, police said.
He was charged with receiving stolen property.
