LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police have identified a Lancaster woman who was fatally struck when two vehicles collided at the intersection of N. Water and W. Lemon streets.

Catherine Dowling, 52, died while she was being treated at a hospital following the incident at around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates that a 1998 Cadillac Seville driven by Harold White was southbound on Water Street and was struck by a 1996 Ford E250 van that was being driven west on Lemon Street by Thomas Hogge Jr.

Due to the collision, White was unable to immediately control the Cadillac and it struck Dowling in the southwest corner of the intersection, police said.

The crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Phil Berkheiser or Officer Steven Reich at 717-735-3301.

Callers do not have to identify themselves to provide information.
