A Tower City man was charged with animal cruelty after he killed a dog that had nipped at a woman and a 2-year-old girl.
Jason Brown, 19, allegedly administered nicotine to the dog and then beat it with a frying pan until it stopped breathing last month, state police in Lykens said.
Brown then dumped the dog's body in a remote location in Porter Township, Schuylkill County, police said.
Police said the dog belonged to a Millersburg-area man who was at work when the animal nipped at his daughter and the toddler.
Brown went to the Upper Paxton Township home and killed the dog after the daughter told him the dog had nipped at her, police said.
