People living near Fort Indiantown Gap may noticed increased noise during the next two weekends.
Live-fire exercises using 60-millimeter and 81-millimeter mortars and demolition training using military-grade explosives are planned for Friday through Sunday and again on March 14-15, according to Tech. Sgt. Ted Nichols, a Pennsylvania National Guard spokesman.
The exercises are scheduled between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. each day.
Fort Indiantown Gap is the only live-fire, maneuver military training facility in Pennsylvania.
Live-fire exercises are announced in advance as a courtesy to nearby residents.
