Dr. James Andrews reportedly plans to set the record straight on draft prospect Cyrus Kouandjio.

Alabama's well-known orthopedic surgeon told CBSSports.com that he pans to send a medical update to all 32 NFL teams which he hopes will clear up rumors that the former Tide offensive lineman failed several physicals at last month's combine.

Dr. Lyle Cain is expected to notify teams that Kouandjio's past knee injury is a "non-story" as well.

"He's had no swelling, no pain, and if you talk to Cyrus he'll tell you he feels better than he has in two or three years," Cain told CBSSports.com. "He's never had to have his knee drained. He's never had to have treatment. He's really been asymptomatic."

Kouandjio underwent surgery on his ACL and MCL in 2011. Dr. Andrews did not perform the procedure but serves as the Tide's medical staff consultant.

"I'm trying to put out fires that aren't even justified and to clear the record, I guess, is the best way to put it," Andrews told CBSSports.com. "It came out he had a failed ACL surgery--that's not even close to the truth. His performance at the combine had nothing to do with his knee situation, and that was blown out of proportion and that's not fair to the kid."

Kouandjio ran the 40-yard dash in 5.59 seconds, which was the slowest time of any prospect at last months NFL Combine. He'll have a chance to workout in front of scouts again next week at Alabama's Pro Day.

The NFL Draft begins May 8 at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
