Gadsden man charged with child porn

Posted: Updated:

Deputies with the Etowah County Sheriff's office have charged a Gadsden man in connection to possession of child pornography.

49-year-old Dennis Jermone Brown, Jr. Was arrested Thursday, March 6, 2014 and charged with one count of possession of child pornography. Evidence of child pornography was found on a computer in his house when the device was seized in January. The computer was taken into custody after Brown was arrested on drug warrants for allegedly making narcotics transactions via computer.

"This is a terrible crime that has been committed against children, who at this time, have not been identified.  We do not need these types of individuals on the streets of our county," Sheriff Entrekin said.  "I am proud of our investigators for the work they did in this case. We have some of the toughest sex offender laws in the nation and I anticipate their use against this predator."

Brown is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center.
