CORNWALL, Pa. (WHTM) -

Two men were arrested after police said they found $20,000 worth of heroin and loaded weapons in their car at a Lebanon County convenience store.

Alex T. Gilbert, 27, of Lancaster, and Jose Enrique Gonzalez, 22, no permanent address, were arrested Sunday night in the parking lot of the Hess Express at 3190 Lebanon Road in West Cornwall Township, Cornwall Borough police said.

Police said a Lancaster County resident told them Gilbert and Gonzalez had pulled into his driveway and were acting suspicious, so he fired a warning shot into the air and chased the two on Route 72 into Lebanon County and into the Hess Express parking lot.

In the 1996 Acura driven by Gonzalez, police said they found 36 grams of bulk heroin, a loaded .22 caliber Beretta handgun, and a loaded SKS military-style rifle with a 20-round magazine.

Both suspects were charged with drug and firearms offenses and placed in the Lebanon County Prison on $250,000 bail.
