TUSCALOOSA COUNTY - AL -

Tuscaloosa police have charged 21-year-old Trevoris Sheppard with one county of theft of property first-degree.

Police were called to the parking lot of the Dollar General Store on Bear Creek Road Sunday night. A woman told investigators she was putting groceries in the vehicle when two men ran towards her. She says one of the men took her wallet out of her hand and took off running. Officers called to the Sheriff's office for assistance of a tracking K-9. The K-9 tracked the suspects from the Dollar General Store to Winding Creek Apartments and two suspects were detained. They were taken to the police department for questioning. One of the men was released without any charges.

Sheppard is being held in the Tuscaloosa County jail on a $15,000.00 bond.
