A section of Route 116 west of Bonneauville will be closed to through-traffic when PennDOT begins work to replace two bridges on Tuesday, March 25.
Route 116 will be closed between Low Dutch Road and Wheatland Drive in Mount Pleasant Township while construction crews will build a new bridge over White Run and replace the bridge over Chicken Run with a box culvert, according to a PennDOT news release.
The 87-year-old bridges are considered structurally deficient.
The road will be closed to through-traffic until Nov. 15.
Until then, a detour which follows Route 15, Route 97 and Two Taverns Road will be in place.
