2 held for court in child abduction case

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Columbia man and his father are headed to trial for abducting two young children from their Lancaster home last month.

Eddie Ahorrio-Martinez Jr., 23, and Eddie Ahorrio-Saavedra Sr., 47, were held for court on kidnapping, burglary and assault charges during a preliminary hearing Wednesday.

Formal arraignments in Lancaster County court are scheduled April 11.

Both men remain in the county prison on $1 million bail for an incident Feb. 6 at the home of Ahorrio-Martinez's estranged wife in the 600 block of Almanac Avenue.

Police said the two entered the home through an unlocked door before Ahorrio-Martinez pointed a gun at his estranged wife, her current boyfriend and his 15-year-old sister, and Ahorrio-Saavedra struck the 20-year-old boyfriend several times in the head with a metal pipe wrench.

Ahorrio-Martinez and his father then fled to Philadelphia with the children, a 3-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy, and were arrested 12 hours later.

The children were not harmed.
