More than a dozen people are out of their homes after a foundation collapse in Dauphin County.
It happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday on the 2900 block of Canby Street in Penbrook. Officials said the ground under the building was softened by so much snow and rain that it caused the foundation to crumble.
"I'm guessing all the rain today didn't help anything. It just over-saturated the ground with moisture," Penbrook Fire Chief Jason Musser said. "It's an older structure. Unfortunately, it just wore down to the point where it wouldn't hold it."
The American Red Cross is assisting those who are out of their homes.
