Light snow overnight, but clearing late Monday morning

Posted: Updated:

A storm will skirt by to our south overnight brushing our region with a round of light snow. The heavier snow totals will remain to our south across parts of Maryland. Closer to home, our light snow will continue through dawn before tapering off. Expect the most accumulation to be an inch or two, and that will likely fall across our southern tier counties of Franklin, Adams, York and Lancaster. North of that, expect a coating of snow. In general, the best accumulation will be on grassy surfaces. There could be some slippery travel if the snow falls fast enough to stick to road surfaces overnight.

The Monday morning commute may be a bit slippery in some spots, but the snow will taper off rapidly with likely a little sunshine moving in by Monday afternoon. Temperatures will be stuck in the 30s, however, for afternoon highs.

The rest of the week we'll watch our temperatures climb higher and higher, day by day. It is likely we'll touch 50 for the first official day of Spring on Thursday. There is a threat for some scattered rain showers by Saturday for the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Harrisburg, but at least we aren't talking snow!
