MANHEIM, Pa. (WHTM) -

One person was trapped inside a car after colliding with an ambulance Saturday morning in Penn Township. The crash prompted a boil water advisory in the area.

Crews in Lancaster County were called to the scene around 10:40 a.m. on Doe Run Road near the Manheim Shopping Center. The car needed to be cut open to remove the driver.

According to LancasterOnline, the ambulance was responding to an emergency at the time of the crash, but no patient was in the vehicle.

Two ambulance techs were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The car driver's condition is not known.

The accident prompted a boil water advisory for some Penn Township residents. A section of the drinking water system had to be shut down.

The advisory only affects people living on Doe Run Road, as well as East End, West End and Ditz drives.

Residents in this area should boil their water for one minute before drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, preparing food or washing dishes until further notice.
