Finding a daycare in two weeks can be a tough task.
In York County, it's a must do for some parents who are now scrambling to find child care, because their current daycare is set to close.
On Friday, out of the blue, parents of the nearly 60 children who attend the Kiddie Academy of Shrewsbury received a letter that said the center will close permanently on March 28 due to financial hardships.
For some parents, two weeks is not nearly enough time. And many say they don't have options.
"I have not been sleeping at night and I am sure most of the parents that are in the same position feel the same way," Gino Sisti of New Freedom said.
Kiddie Academy of Shrewsbury released this statement:
"I want to take this opportunity to thank the families of Shrewsbury who have allowed us to serve them and care for their children. Unfortunately, due to financial hardships, the Kiddie Academy of Shrewsbury will close on Friday, March 28, 2014. Currently enrolled customers have been provided two weeks notice so that they can begin to seek other child care options, and we will be proactively reaching out to other providers in the area to determine who has availability for both children and staff. I also want to thank my dedicated staff who continue to focus on the care and education of the children enrolled in our center," Aimee Clime, franchisee said.
