A York County man faces robbery and assault charges following a carjacking Monday night at Central York Middle School.
Jordan Stein, of East Prospect, jumped into a Lexus ES300 while two passengers were waiting for the driver just before 10 p.m., Springettsbury Township police said.
Both passengers were able to get out of the Lexus as Stein was backing up. One of them injured his hand while trying to help the other passenger, police said.
Stein fled in the Lexus and was arrested a short time later on Farmbrook Lane in York, according to police.
Police said before the carjacking, Stein was involved in a hit-and-run incident where he drove through yards and hit trash cans in the 1800 block of Ridgewood Road.
He fled that scene after his vehicle became disabled in a ditch, police said.
He was charged with robbery, robbery of a motor vehicle, theft, receiving stolen property, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering, DUI, and hit and run.
