Police offer reward for name of theft, threat suspect

Posted: Updated:

Police are looking for help in identifying a man who allegedly threatened store employees after he was caught shoplifting at Park City Center in Lancaster.

Lancaster City/County Crime Stoppers announced a reward of up to $1,000 in the case Tuesday.

Police said the man was approached by a store security officer as he tried to leave the Kohl's with stolen merchandise on Feb. 11, but he placed a hand inside his jacket and threatened to pull a weapon if the officer touched him.

As he walked through the parking lot, he told store employees to stay away and warned it was not worth their lives, police said.

He then entered a vehicle as a passenger and left the area. Police said the driver was identified and interviewed, but the suspected thief has not been unidentified.

Anyone with information may call Lancaster Police Sergeant Phil Berkheiser at 717-735-3300 ext.3231 or Crime Stoppers at 800-322-1913.

Callers do not have to give their names.
