LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Lancaster man was charged with attempted homicide after he stabbed his ex-wife Wednesday morning at her home in the 600 block of W. Vine Street, city police said.

Emmanuel Coreano, 26, was also charged with aggravated assault and burglary following his arrest about two hours after the incident.

Police said Coreano's 24-year-old ex-wife was able to call for help after she was stabbed multiple times, while her children were in the home, at around 10 a.m.

She was taken to a hospital for treatment of the wounds she received in the assault. Her medical condition was not immediately available.

Coreano fled before officers arrived but was arrested about two hours later while walking in the first block of Conestoga Street, police said.
