Legislation that would shorten the terms of Pennsylvania Fish and Boat commissioners is awaiting the signature of Governor Tom Corbett.
House Bill 798 passed the House Wednesday by a vote of 186-10.
The bill would reduce the commissioners' term lengths from eight years to four years, and commissioners could serve no more than three consecutive terms.
Commissioners would have to be appointed and confirmed by the Senate.
Vacancies would still be filled for partial terms.
