Home invasion leaves one man in the hospital

Birmingham , AL -

Birmingham Police are searching for three men who pistol-whipped a man during a home invasion.

It happened at 10th place West at East Thomas apartments Wednesday at 8 a.m. Police say the men kicked in the back door, and injured Ricardo Durontas with a gun. They got away with money and a television.

Police say home invasions usually don't occur so early.

"It's a very odd time of the day to have a home invasion take place between the hours of 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning, that's very unusual we think," says Lt. Sean Edwards.

If you have any information, you're encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 254-7777.
