PALMYRA, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 38-year-old Palmyra man was pistol-whipped during an armed robbery in the borough Thursday night, according to police.

The man was robbed of cash and identification cards in the first block of S. College Street just before 11 p.m.

Police said the handgun discharged while the victim was assaulted, but the man was not struck by the bullet.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The victim described his attacker as a Hispanic male, approximately 6'0" tall with a thin build and a "tribal design" tattoo on his neck, police said, and was wearing a black baggy shirt, blue jeans, and a dark colored, flat-brimmed baseball cap.

Anyone with information may call Palmyra police at 717-838-8189.
