Appomattox County, VA -- Appomattox County Supervisors are proposing a real estate tax hike for 2015.
The current proposal calls for a 6 cent raise, per $100 of assessed value. Piney Mountain District Supervisor Sara Carter tells us that the actual tax hike could be much lower than the advertised 6 cents.
In addition, supervisors have removed some requests from the initial budget, such as additional school and fire equipment.
A public hearing will be held in late April, as the budget and tax increase are presented to the public.
