Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority Raises Money For Autism By Bowling

Posted:

Lynchburg, VA- The Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority raised money for autism with a bowlathon Saturday. The group held the bowling competition at AMF Bowling Center in Lynchburg.

The Center donated the lanes for the event, and teams of four paid $100 to participate. There was also a silent auction and raffle. At last check the event raised more than $3,000. All the money will go to the organization, Autism Speaks.

"I've got a 14 year old autistic child. I know several people within our organization have autistic children. Autism touches many lives all around us, it's something that's becoming more and more prevalent in this day and age," said Billy Enoch, who headed the event.

Enoch said this is the first event of many. He said they are already making plans for next year since Saturday's bowlathon went so well.
