HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Harrisburg man has been charged with fatally strangling his girlfriend during a domestic dispute.

Joseph Albert Riddick, 46, is being held in Dauphin County Prison without bail in the death of 44-year-old Yevette Morrison, according to city police.

Riddick is accused of strangling Morrison in an apartment in the first block of S. 4th Street shortly after midnight Sunday.

Morrison was unconscious when officers arrived at the address. She was transported to a hospital, but never regained consciousness and ultimately died from multiple traumatic injuries, police said.

Riddick spoke to detectives regarding the incident and was arrested and charged with homicide, police said.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled April 2.
