Work began in Harrisburg on Monday to install a new water main at the site where three sinkholes left a huge opening in the 1400 block of South 14th Street.
At least two leaks from the old water main created the sinkholes last Thursday.
Several homes were evacuated, and natural gas service was shut off to the neighborhood for a day.
Seven years ago, a sinkhole swallowed an SUV on the same block, but it's not clear whether the two incidents are related.
