Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect Tuesday.

We have a major spring snow across the region... Careful if you must drive!

Snow continues to taper off this afternoon. Late day breaks of sunshine possible, with some scattered showers. Highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

Snow totals will range from 3 to 6" in Central VA southwestward to Patrick County. 2 to 4" in Roanoke, Danville and the NRV. Some locations a bit more, some a bit less.

Turning windy and remaining cold tonight. Although some flurries may persist in the air west of the Blue Ridge Parkway, no further accumulating snow is expected. Generally clear tomorrow night in Central and Southside Virginia. But with temperatures in the 20s, wet roads will begin to ice over, making for a tricky commute Wednesday morning.

Sunshine returns for Wednesday and Thursday, then some occasional rain showers Friday and Saturday.

Sunday looks dry throughout our part of the state, including for the race in Martinsville, with afternoon temperatures near 60 degrees.
