A water main break on Derry Street in Swatara Township has led to a boil water advisory for around 150 United Water customers in the area.
On Sunday, there was a water main break in a 12-inch diameter main on Derry Street that resulted in loss of water pressure to customers in a portion of Swatara Township on Derry Street, between Bonnymeade Avenue and Paxtang Avenue.
As such, a boil water advisory is in effect for customers in the area. United Water advises all customers to bring water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute and let it cool before using; or use bottled water.
You should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice.
United Water officials estimated that the boil water advisory would be in effect for at least the next two days.
