A Maryland man was arrested after he assaulted a woman in a Shrewsbury parking lot and injured an officer while resisting arrest, police said.
Tyler Emory Dawson, 22, of Gwynn Oak, Md., faces charges including aggravated assault on a police officer, simple assault and disorderly conduct, according to Southern York County Regional police.
Dawson was additionally with endangering the welfare of a child because the woman's 3-year-old son was in the vehicle when she was assaulted, police said.
He was also charged for possession of a small amount of marijuana.
Officers on Saturday had responded to a 911 hang-up in the parking lot of a restaurant along Mt. Airy Road and found a vehicle blocking the exit of a shopping center.
Police said the woman exited the vehicle with blood on her face and threw a bag of suspected marijuana at the officers.
Dawson got out of the vehicle and began to confront the woman. He then resisted arrest, causing minor injuries to the officer's hand, before a Taser was used to get him under control, police said.
He was later released on $5,000 bail.
