The Coalition for Medical Marijuana hosted a fundraiser to help area families who traveled to Colorado for medical marijuana treatment.
The event was hosted at Appalachian Brewing in Harrisburg and offered music, food and a silent auction.
It is all to support two Midstate families; one, the Houk's. We told you about Cameron late last year. He started having seizures when he was 11 months old. He and his mother are in Colorado for treatment while his father remains in the area for work.
"We would like to at least get his dad a plane ticket to go visit because he doesn't get to see them very often and they could potentially be there for a very long time," organizer Latrisha Bentch said.
Another family, the Fosters, are also beneficiaries. Debbie Foster traveled to Colorado to get treatment for her teenage daughter. They have since returned for family and financial reasons.
The Coalition for Medical Marijuana hopes to hold another fundraiser in the future.
