Attempted carjacking reported in Spring Garden

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police are investigating a report of an attempted carjacking in York County.

Spring Garden Township police said a woman told them she was stopped at a traffic light when a man tried to open her car door Sunday night.

She said the incident took place on Indian Rock Dam Road just east of Hokes Mill Road, near the railroad underpass, at around 10:20 p.m., according to police.

The man had been walking along the shoulder before he approached the woman's door. She said she immediately drove off before the man could get the door opened.

She described the man as a 30- to 40-year-old white man who was either bald or had very short hair, a medium build, 5'7"-5'10" tall,  and wearing dark colored clothing and a jacket with the collar turned up.
