TUSCALOOSA COUNTY - AL -

Tuscaloosa police have charged a 44-year-old women with burglary 3rd degree.

Deputies responded to a call of a burglary that had just occurred in the 3000 block of Clements Road Monday. A neighbor gave deputies a description of the suspect. Deputies spotted the suspect's vehicle and a traffic stop was initiated at the intersection of Church Street and University Boulevard. The passenger of the vehicle immediately took off on foot. The suspect was chased back towards Cotton Creek trailer park on Spring Drive. The foot pursuit was terminated at the wood line and a perimeter was set up and held by responding deputies, TPD units and the Sheriff's office helicopter until a K-9 and his partner arrived. Deputies later arrested Felicia Thomas and they say they recovered some of the stolen property at a house on Diane Street. Police are still looking for a 23-year-old black male.

Chief Abernathy commended the patrol deputies and investigators on their due diligence to capture one of the suspects as well as investigative work to identify the second suspect. He also thanked the Tuscaloosa police department for their assistance as well.
