Woman shot in Lower Paxton

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A woman was hospitalized after a shooting early Wednesday in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County.

Township police said officers were dispatched to Glouchester Street after the unidentified woman called 911 shortly before 4 a.m.

The shooter had fled the scene immediately after the shooting, police said. A news release did not identify a suspect.

The victim was transported to Penn State Hershey Medical Center by ambulance and on last report was awaiting surgery, police said.

The investigation is in its early stages and more information will follow when it is available, the news release stated.
