HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 16-year-old girl has been arrested for a pair of bomb threats that disrupted classes Friday morning at Susquehanna Township High School as well as rehearsal for a Dauphin County chorus festival.

Township police said they interviewed the teen after reviewing surveillance video of the hallways, and she admitted to placing threatening notes in school bathrooms.

The girl, who was not identified, was charged with two counts each of terroristic threats and weapons of mass destruction, police said.

Students and staff were evacuated from the building, and county chorus was moved to the middle school, after the first note was found after 9 a.m., according to the school district.

Police said the handwritten note indicated that a bomb was in the school.

Students were allowed to return to their classrooms once the school was cleared by police and an explosives detection K-9, but shortly later another note was found in a bathroom, again indicating a bomb in the high school, police said.

After the school was evacuated a second time at around 11 a.m., ninth grade students were taken to the Sara Lindemuth building and 10-12 grade students were moved to the middle school until police cleared the high school a second time at 12:45 p.m., according to the district.
