Suspect sought after man shot in the stomach

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in Harrisburg are searching for a suspected shooter after a man was found on Derry Street with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

According to police, the shooting victim was found early Saturday morning at around 2:25 a.m. in the 1700 block of Derry Street.

Authorities said the victim had a gunshot wound to his stomach, but he was alert and conscious. The victim told police the incident occurred across the street at the old Mercado's pizza shop.

The suspect was described as a heavy-set black man.

Officials said the victim was in poor condition when he was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
