Over 3,000 walk for Autism York

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

April is Autism Awareness Month, and on Saturday, over 3,000 people walked for the cause at Central York High School.

The event was organized by Autism York. Not only is it a chance to raise money, but people are able to get more information about autism-related services.

"We're educating the community as to what autism really is," said Stacy Kunkel of Autism York, "and what kind of supports are out there in the community for those individuals."

Last year's walk raised over $80,000 for Autism York.

This year the organization is hoping to beat that amount.
